Real Madrid clinched a fourth straight win in all competitions with a 2-1 triumph over La Liga rivals Las Palmas on Sunday—but only after a dramatic finish in Gran Canaria, Spain.

Los Blancos held a 1-0 lead going into the closing stages of the match thanks to a first-half header from captain Sergio Ramos.

However, the home side seemed to have grabbed a point when Willian Jose kept his cool to lift the ball over Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas and level the scores after 87 minutes.

Yet the visitors—who were second best for long periods of the contest—went down the other end to grab a winner. Casemiro was their unlikely hero, as he headed home a corner at the back post.

The goal, though, still wasn't the final talking point. Ramos picked up a second booking in injury time, leaving his team-mates to see out the closing minutes with only 10 men.

Team News

Real Madrid were beaten 4-2 the last time they visited Gran Canaria although that was in 2001 and Las Palmas were still relegated at the end of the season.

Los Blancos were 3-1 winners in their only recent meeting earlier this season at the Bernabeu.

Both teams have scored in 69% of Real Madrid’s away games this season in La Liga. Las Palmas average 1.5 points per game at home compared to Real Madrid’s 1.77 points on the road.

Roque Mesa should return to the side following suspension in what could be their only change from last weekend.

Karim Benzema is their only inury worry so Borja Mayoral should get another start with Bale and Ronaldo joining him in attack. Pepe is likely to start ahead of Raphael Varane.
