The Eagles look to open up gap from drop zone, but face a Mo Salah-inspired Reds side aiming for second spot.

Crystal Palace head into their first match after the international break in search of extending their gap from the relegation places.

A 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their previous game saw their lift out of the drop zone, but face a Liverpool side that have four wins in their last five fixtures.

With 14 goals in those matches, the Reds high-scoring run will be expected to continue as star man Mohamed Salah leads the way in the charts, scoring 28 so far in the Premier League this season.

Crystal Palace kick off the Premier League weekend with the visit of Liverpool, two clubs in battles at opposite ends of the table.

Jurgen Klopp's side have played a game more than their top-four rivals and can move into second place with a win at Selhurst Park and will be hoping Chelsea beat Tottenham on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Palace know the visit of Liverpool is by far their toughest test for the remainder of the run-in so points return on Saturday will be a plus.

Joe Gomez is a doubt for Liverpool's trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday - live on Sky Sports - due to the ankle injury he suffered on international duty.

The 20-year-old was forced off in the early stages of England's 1-0 win in Amsterdam against the Netherlands on Friday.

Gomez has been ruled out of Tuesday's friendly against Italy and returned to Liverpool for treatment.
