Messi shows no signs of slowing down

An insatiable appetite for goals has not subsided this season, with Lionel Messi sitting on an astonishing 29 goals in 27 games he has played this season.
In fact, in only seven games that he has played the Argentine has failed to find the back of the net and in the remaining 20, he has scored with regularity and proved decisive for the Blaugrana.
His numbers have also improved significantly upon last season, when he was on 21 goals at the same point in January.
This season, the forward already has five doubles and two hat-tricks, while he has scored in nine of his last 10 games and has also provided nine assists.
That level has Messi sitting atop the scoring charts for both LaLiga and the Champions League, with 15 and 10 goals respectively.
The Argentina international has also regained his confidence from 12 yards, something which had been a slight issue recently, with a 100 percent record of four goals from four penalty kicks this season.
Another facet of his game that has shone this year has been an outstanding level of accuracy from free-kicks anywhere around the opposition penalty area.
Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Sandro, he has scored more free-kicks than any other player as he continues to set the standard for the rest.
