Alvaro Morata has even rediscovered his scoring touch, finding the back of the net last time out in the 3-2 win over Arsenal.

Newcastle meanwhile picked up their first point of the season away at Cardiff last Saturday, with Kenedy passing up the opportunity to wrap up all three points when he missed from the penalty spot in injury time.

Chelsea are hoping to extend their winning form under Maurizio Sarri when they travel to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.

Sarri predicted it would take a few months for the Blues to really take flight under his tutelage but two wins from two with six goals scored suggests things are already beginning to click.

Newcastle and Chelsea have met 163 times in the past with the Blues winning 71 of those meetings. Newcastle have 53 wins to their name with 39 draws between the two.

Fast forward a few years and Maurizio Sarri's rise from rookie coach to Italian mastermind sees him taking over at Chelsea after a mixed season under Conte.

Start Time

Newcastle vs Chelsea kicks off at St James’ Park at 4pm on Sunday 26 August.

TV and live stream online coverage

The match will be available to watch live on BT Sport 1, with coverage from Wembley beginning at 2pm.

Team News
Eden Hazard started Chelsea’s first two matches on the bench having only returned to training a week before the new season kicked off. The Belgium international has still managed to register two assists in that time however with Sarri indicating the 27-year-old could be ready to start on Tyneside.

Cesc Fabregas has not featured in the league yet this term due to a knee problem which could leave him a doubt for the weekend.

Newcastle will be without the suspended Isaac Hayden after he was shown a red card in that goalless draw with Cardiff.

Kenedy may have found his place in the starting XI under threat after his particularly woeful performance in that match but the Brazilian is ineligible to play against his parent club, potentially saving Benitez a difficult decision.

DeAndre Yedlin will be back in contention after recovering from a knee problem but Florian Lejeune remains a long-term absentee.

Possible starting XIs

Chelsea XI: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Pedro, Morata, Hazard
