Lucas Torreira will likely be given his first outing by Unai Emery, while Bernd Leno and Petr Cech continue to vie for the starting berth in the Premier League.

Emery had a fully fit squad to choose from, with the game taking place eight days before their opening fixture of the new season, at home to champions Manchester City.

Team news

Arsenal will be able to welcome back Jack Wilshere, Petr Cech and Mesut Ozil on Thursday.

Wilshere, Cech, and Ozil missed Sunday's win over West Ham as they were given time to recover from ankle, hip injuries and illness respectively. Sead Kolasinac (ankle) is also available.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (knee), Mohamed Elneny (ankle) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) remain sidelined, however, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ineligible.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Holding, Mustafi, Chambers, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Xhaka, Willock, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Iwobi, Welbeck, Lacazette, Nketiah.

James Collins could return for the Hammers, but Michail Antonio, Pedro Obiang, Winston Reid and Sam Byram are all out.

David Moyes is expected to have the same panel as he had for the Hammers' last game against Stoke City, which means that Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini are in contention to start, though they are not deemed likely to feature for 90 minutes.

James Collins is not going to be available for the match, nor is Pedro Obiang, but Moyes said that the latter is making positive progress. Michail Antonio, Sam Byram and Winston Reid are all out.
