Everton will have to avert a five-game away losing streak to get anything from Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

The Toffees have won just one of their 15 away league games this campaign and boss Sam Allardyce has revealed he has put mind above matter this week.

Stoke manager Paul Lambert has been impressed with his new side since taking over in January, but wants them to take the game to Everton after going six games without a win.

Home comforts provided Everton with some respite on Saturday, but the trip to Stoke is something of a daunting task to a Toffees outfit who have only won one game away from Goodison Park all season.

Sam Allardyce takes Everton to struggling Stoke, whom they beat 1-0 on the opening day with a debut goal from Wayne Rooney when both teams were under different management.

With five successive defeats on their recent travels, his last point coming when the team were outplayed in a 0-0 by West Bromwich Albion.

“We’ve been using some more work into the mind in the analysis room.

Who we are, what we want to achieve, what we can get,” Allardyce said. Stoke, who lost their free-hit to Manchester City 2-0 on Monday, see this as a match they can and must get three points from and with games running out, will be confident they have the wherewithal to further bamboozle Everton. Everton will be looking to build on last week's return to winning ways when the visit Stoke City on Saturday.

The Blues' miserable run on the road continued with back-to-back defeats to Watford and Burnley before Sam Allardyce's men arrested the slump with Saturday's routine win over Brighton.
