Spurs travel to St Mary's full of confidence after a 4-0 win over Everton to take on a Saints team who have gone 10 league games without winning

Southampton host Tottenham Hotspur at St Mary's hoping to pick up three points at home to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

The Saints have been underperforming this season and find themselves among the bottom pack thanks to a run of 10 Premier League games without a win.

Spurs, on the other hand, are in excellent form, and travel to the south coast on the back of a magnificent 4-0 win over Everton to keep them within touching distance of the top four.

Tottenham travel to Southampton on Sunday less than a month after scoring five against them at Wembley.

Spurs will look to extend their unbeaten run while piling more pressure on Mauricio Pellegrino with the Saints on a 10-game winless streak.

Southampton are beaten Spurs just once since 2005, becoming the final away team to win at White Hart Lane with victory at the end of the 2015-16 season, and have shipped 11 goals on their previous three encounters.

Team news

Mauricio Pellegrino is still without Charlie Austin as the forward is a long-term injury absentee after tearing his hamstring in December.

Maya Yoshida is a doubt for Sunday's game with a hamstring problem, but could still be included in the matchday squad.

Potential Southampton starting XI: McCarthy, Soares, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Boufal, Long.

Harry Winks has been sidelined for the rest of month with an ankle injury, with Danny Rose (knee) a similar timescale.

In more positive news, Toby Alderweireld is nearing a return. The centre-back has been out since November with a hamstring injury and hopes to be back in first-team action for the trip to Liverpool on February 4.

Mauricio Pellegrino has no fresh injury concerns, with Maya Yoshida and Charlie Austin (both hamstring) out for the foreseeable.

Mauricio Pochettino faces a late decision over the fitness of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who has been forced to sit out training midweek due to illness. Michael Vorm could start should Lloris miss out.

Defenders Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld are both sidelined, while Harry Winks has an ankle injury.

Potential Tottenham starting XI:  Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Trippier, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane.

Predicted line-ups
Southampton starting XI: McCarthy; Cedric, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand; Romeu, Hojbjerg; Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Davis; Long

Tottenham starting XI: Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Kane
