Arsenal vs Huddersfield: Premier League Gunners looking to extend home run

Arsenal and Huddersfield meet in the Premier League for the first time on Wednesday night with the hosts hoping to extend their winning run at home.

Arsene Wenger's men have won their last 11 games at the Emirates - their longest run of successive Premier League wins since leaving Highbury. They last won 12 consecutive games at home in 2004.

This will be the first league meeting between the teams since 1972 - a game Arsenal won 1-0 with George Armstrong scoring the winning goal.

Arsenal are seeking to keep hold of fourth place in the Premier League when they entertain Huddersfield on Wednesday night.

A last-gasp Alexis Sanchez penalty secured a 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday to send the Gunners above north London rivals Tottenham into the Champions League qualification places.

Despite a rocky start to the season, Arsenal have won four of their previous five games - but their title hopes look slim given they trail leaders Manchester City by 12 points after 13 games.

City beat Huddersfield 2-1 late on in Sunday's clash, and David Wagner's Terriers - who have already beaten Manchester United this term - could prove a real match for the Gunners if they are on
form at the Emirates.

Start time

Arsenal host Huddersfield at Emirates Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm on Wednesday, November 29.

TV and live online coverage

The match will not be televised live in the UK.

You can follow all the build-up and action from 6:30pm with New Gersy blog.

Team News

Arsenal will be hopeful Mesut Ozil overcomes illness to be involved.

The Germany international missed the 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday but was expected to train on Tuesday in an attempt to be available.

Alex Iwobi (leg) is definitely missing, as is long-term injury absentee Santi Cazorla (ankle) but they are Arsene Wenger's only two sidelined players.

Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Ozil will definitely be out after falling ill before Arsenal's win at Huddersfield.

Alex Iwobi started in favour of Jack Wilshere and could well do so again on Wednesday, while Danny Welbeck or Olivier Giroud may be offered a chance to impress should Wenger decide to rest Alexandre Lacazette given the quick turnaround.

Huddersfield will be without midfielder Rajiv van La Parra who will sit out the first of his three-game suspension following his straight red card after the final whistle in Sunday's defeat against Manchester City.

Long-term absentees Philip Billing (ankle), Michael Hefele (knee) and Jon Gorenc Stanković (Achilles) will also remain sidelined with their respective injuries.

Huddersfield will be without Rijiv Van La Parra following the winger's late red card against Manchester City.

Predicted line-ups

Arsenal starting XI: Cech; Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal; Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac; Iwobi, Sanchez, Welbeck

Huddersfield starting XI: Lossl, Smith, Jorgensen, Schindler, Malone, Ince, Williams, Hogg, Mooy, Mounie, Depoitre
