Barcelona clear the way for new right-back signing

Aleix Vidal's injury will see him officially placed in a state of being unable to work by Barcelona, who would then be open to signing a replacement.
The former Sevilla man's ankle injury is set to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
However, although Barcelona are keen to explore the option of signing a replacement, it does not mean they will definitely bring in a new recruit.
Despite the fact that the club's momentous Champions League comeback means they now have extra fixtures to deal with, the idea at the moment remains to use the squad they currently have.
Once Barcelona's request to have Vidal considered a player unable to carry out his job is processed, they will have a period of 15 days to decide whether or not they will sign a new right-back.
Although the club have compiled a shortlist of names who could potentially replace Vidal, Luis Enrique's new use of a 3-4-3 formation has somewhat negated the need for bringing in a new defender.
